Summer Fun for You and Me

Last year I attended the Parent Presentation of the final week of arts-X-press 36 hours before Noah was born. So, it was only appropriate for Noah to attend an arts-X-press Parent Presentation with me this summer! He was such a good audience member, very patient and friendly with all my friends from the program. Needless to say, Noah was an instant hit with all the staff members. It was a fun night "creative risks" with old friends! In this picture we are posing with Eddie Oliver, the Instrumental Music Instructor for the program.

Trying the Moms Club

Last month Noah and I tried out the local Moms CLub for the first time. Appropriately enough the event we attended was a "Water Play" playgroup. Noah had a great time. He got to play with a water table for the first time and I am now on the hunt for one myself. He also made friends in the swimming pool! I had a good time chatting with other local moms and getting to know their stories a little bit. Noah and I plan to try another Club activity this month and who knows, maybe we will join!

Lounging

One morning I walked into the bedroom to find this adorable little boy lounging with his Daddy in bed watching Sesame Street. Even though I don't love the TV watching, Noah was just so cute I had to take his picture. He's the best!

BBQ with the Villanuevas

Early in July we had a wonderful day with our friends the Villanueva family. Before we enjoyed Noah's first hotdog the boys enjoyed a little water play in the backyard. I hope you will notice how the biggest boy in the group seemed to be getting the most action was Tim. :) It was definitely a fun day!

Crawling

Here are two videos of Noah crawling after a jingle ball on the tile floor in our entryway. Enjoy!

Mommy's Purse

One of Noah's favorite distractions is playing with my purse or wallet. Here he was pulling everything out of the purse while I paid bills next to him. I thought it was awfully funny when I saw he had also added the green donut to the purse contents. :)

Aunt Liz in Concert

Earlier this month we had the wonderful opportunity to go to the Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach and watch "Aunt" Liz play her violin in a concert. She played the violin solo from Schindler's List and then had an encore where she played some rollicking fiddle hoe down music! It was Noah's first time seeing Liz perform by herself and it was a great afternoon. Noah even got to eat during the concert, and he received compliments from the people around us about what a polite audience member he was! Hooray for Aunt Liz!

Using Markers for Daddy

Recently Noah used markers for the first time to make a special welcome home poster for Tim when he had been working late a lot.We got through the project with surprisingly little marker on his hands! He was very excited to use markers though. I think we have a budding artist on our hands. All in all the poster turned out pretty well and Tim was surprised when he got home! Hooray!

Eating Watermelon Take Two

You may remember one of the first posts I made about Noah eating solid foods was about how much he liked watermelon. Well, his love of watermelon hasn't changed with the growth of his new teeth. But his method of eating has! Here he is eating an entire slice of watermelon all by himself!
