He loved the water! It was so fun to see his face light up as the tide would come in over his feet. I think when the weather gets a little warmer here in CA, we will definitely have to make more trips to the beach so he can experience the Pacific Ocean's waters as well. I know the water won't be as lovely and warm though as it was in the Atlantic. It was 70 degrees on our feet! Lovely!

Memorial Day
Happy Memorial Day! On this auspicious day the family attended "Taps at Twilight" at the beach on St. Simons Island.
It was neat to see the area by the beach where Aunt Katie and Uncle Rich were married. Everything looked a lot different as all the construction was done and a new park had been created.
We took a picnic supper and joined some of my parents' friends from church to listen to the community band play patriotic pieces of music and see the raising of the colors.
As you can see from these pictures he was in hog heaven! :) What could be better than eating all of your favorite foods while sitting outside and enjoying the festivities? Sunday, May 24, 2009
Visiting Grammie and Grandpa
Yesterday Noah and I made the long trip from Orange County, CA to Glynn County, GA. Noah was a wonderful little traveler again. I am so lucky to have such a good little boy with whom to travel.
Today was our first day with my folks and we had a great time. After church and a two hour nap, Noah really got down and dirty with the playtime. My mom pulled out an entire box of toys from my childhood for Noah to play with and you can see he really enjoyed them.
It was a little odd to see so many toys I played with after 25+ years, but I'm really glad my mom saved them. It's a neat feeling to share my childhood with my son. It makes me realize how ridiculously complicated children's toys are now. I much prefer the basic, chewable, washable toys. Bonus points if they are made out of natural materials. The only noticeable side effect of the trip so far is Noah's sleep schedule. He is operating as though he is on CA time, which is not surprising. He's such a good little boy!

Happy Nine Month Birthday!
Today is Noah's nine month birthday. We had a great day complete with three naps, new library books, and snacks from the farmer's market.
While I didn't catch any pictures of Noah today, I have some cute ones from this week of Noah playing with his reflection in the bedroom mirror.
I love seeing him learning and trying to figure out new things. His big accomplishment of the week so far was standing up holding onto something other than Mommy or Daddy. Here he is holding onto the laundry basket.
It won't be long now before he is into everything!Tuesday, May 19, 2009
Voting Day
Today there was a special election in California for several budget proposals. Noah once again showed his pride in our freedom to vote by helping me at the voting booth. Here you will see us making our selections and then Noah wearing his "I Voted" sticker after we were done.
Good Bye Gums, Hello Teeth!
Got a good look, this is the lasy great gummy smile I captured on film before Noah started teething. :) On April 30, while my mom was visiting, we noticed the first true sign of Noah's first tooth, a little pit on the bottom center right gum.
Speaking of destruction, check out the mess Noah made of this teething biscuit today! I think it kept him occupied for 30 minutes, but by the end, he had biscuit everywhere! It was all over the high chair, the bib, his hands, face, and even in his hair. By the time I cleaned it all up, including Noah, I was covered in biscuit too! :) It's good for his tooth though, gives him a workout and makes me laugh at the same time.Good Friends
On Thursday Noah and I had the opportunity to visit Carrie and her boys for the afternoon. We had a wonderful time playing, chatting, and eating Thai food. Here you can see Noah and Jude having some excellent bonding time. It is so fun to spend time with Lucas, Isaac, and Jude. Noah learns from them and has such a good time playing with the "big boys." :)
Mother's Day
My first Mother's Day was made so special by Noah and Tim. Not only did they give me hilarious cards in the morning, I was thoroughly surprised in the afternoon by their wonderful thoughtfulness. While I took a nap, Tim and Noah purchased and planted calla liles in our backyard for me. Callas are my favorite and they are beautiful! What a special first Mother's Day!

Hey Diddle Diddle
While my mom was here we undertook several large projects. One of the most fun was decorating Noah's bedroom. Here are the pictures of his room completely decorated and gorgeous. We love it!

As you can see from the pictures below, though Tim did most of the work, Noah was a big helper and very good at supervising. Thank goodness he had his tools so he could get in on the action.
