Snotty Sick

A day before we left for Delaware, Noah started getting sick. It led to him taking some very interesting naps on Mommy since he wouldn't let me out of his sight. When we got to Delaware, though Noah's attitude was fantastic, he continued to get more and more sick each day. We went to the Longwood Gardens one day on our trip. It must have been 90 degrees out and 90% humidity. Needless to say it wasn't the best day to take a baby and hang out in the sun. This was Noah in the greenhouse:This was Noah 10 minutes later:
My poor baby was SOOOOO hot! So we stripped him down and fed him plenty of water, and headed into the gift shop where it was nice and cool. Were we surprised when Noah fell asleep before our car left the parking lot? Not at all!
By the last day of our trip, Noah was really snotty and coughing a lot. Since there was no pediatric clinic open on Saturday, we ended up taking Noah to the local children's hospital emergency room. The nurses and doctors were really kind and helpful, and Noah got to wear these cool jammies and a wristband:
The doctor decided we didn't need to give Noah any medicine which was a good sign, but when we got home his throat was really hurting from all the coughing. So, we put Pedialyte frozen pops into his mesh feeder and Noah went to town. There was pink cherry "freezy" juice everywhere.
As long as it made him feel better though, I didn't mind a little mess. :) In case you wondered, Noah was feeling much better about two days after we returned home. Hooray!
